Before meeting with Tom Curren Companies, this Wellesley home had an existing rotting deck that the homeowners wanted to transform into a usable space year-round. The existing deck was elevated and jetted off the kitchen and living room, with stairs leading down to the ground level.
To make this space more functional, we completely tore out the existing deck, and rebuilt it from the ground up. We replaced everything – the deck support beams, footings, newel posts, deck boards, and the railings. On the new elevated deck we used Azek composite decking in Slate Gray and stained the Mahogany horizontal slat railing. The main deck and stairs were built with an “over the rail” guard system using solid Mahogany 2×6 top rail and 3/4” x 2” horizontal slats for the balustrade system. Two coats of stain were applied to the new Mahogany railings, along with new coats of Benjamin Moore paint on the deck joists, support columns, and concrete walls along the foundation of the home.
Give us a call today to discuss how we can make your existing space more functional in any season.
