In 1991, Tom attended a Sherwin-Williams training that would shape the future of his business. Surrounded by seasoned pros, he dove into everything from job site best practices to what it really takes to run a successful painting company. It was one of those early, defining moments—where passion met knowledge—and it left a lasting impact.

As the business grew, homeowners began asking for more than just paint - things like wood rot repair and trim work that naturally go hand-in-hand with painting. It made sense to bring skilled carpenters in-house, allowing the team to deliver seamless, high-quality results. As always, Tom kept learning from the pros to ensure every job, whether paint or carpentry, was done with care and craftsmanship.

Sharpening the Tools of the Trade

In 1998, Tom took a big step and joined the Certified Contractors Network, a nationwide network of contractors looking to scale their businesses. Surrounded by other experienced business owners, he pushed himself out of his comfort zone and soaked up everything he could about improving his craft - both on the job site and behind the scenes. It was a turning point that helped him fine-tune the way he ran the business, from how he worked with homeowners to how he built his team.

Over the years, the company has been honored with several awards from the Certified Contractors Network—like Company of the Year, Administrative Professional of the Year, and Company MVP. And to this day, Tom remains an active member, always learning, always growing, and always committed to doing the right thing for his clients and his team.

In 2004, with a clearer vision of what his company could become, Tom took the next big step: expanding into full-scale home remodeling. After years of perfecting his craft and building trust through quality painting and carpentry, clients began asking for more - kitchen upgrades, bathroom renovations, basement overhauls. Tom knew that in order to meet those growing needs, he had to build a team that shared his dedication to craftsmanship and client care.

Drawing on his knack for finding the right people, Tom brought together experienced professionals across all remodeling trades—designers, carpenters, project managers, and skilled specialists—each one committed to the same high standards that built the company’s reputation.

What started as a small, family-run painting company has grown into a full-service design-build firm with three distinct divisions: Painting, Carpentry, and Remodeling. While we’ve expanded our services, we’ve stayed true to our roots - offering hands-on, high-quality work with a personal touch.

Now co-owned by Susan Tuller and Tom Curren, our company has scaled to take on a wider range of projects, from detailed finish work to large-scale renovations like ADUs and elevator shafts. With a bigger, more experienced team behind us, we're built to handle it all - without ever losing sight of what made us successful to begin with.
