This 1870’s house has so much character in the exterior as well as the interior. These repeat clients of TCC started their relationship with this full exterior paint and a large carpentry project both in 2017. They wanted to jump start the life into this older style house by highlighting the extravagant trim and railing work that this house possessed opposed to others on the same street. On top of an extreme painting job, they also wanted to do some carpentry repairs throughout the exterior so the paint would really stand out on a newly refinished home.Â
Our Process:
Sitting at just under 5,000 square feet, this house massively towers over the area which required a ton of TCC manpower! The home was prepped with a thorough wash by hand to remove dirt and mildew. The siding, trim, doors, window casings, gutters, cupola and porch were all scraped, feather sanded, spot primed before colors were determined. Sticking to the originality of the exterior, the homeowners decided to go with even more charismatic colors to really show off how unique the structure is. The siding was Sherwin Williams Bunglehouse Blue, while the fish scale detail is Downing Slate. The pillars, railings and trim was applied with Sherwin Williams Birdseye Maple and detailed with Rookwood Red. Having such a lighter color for the windows, trim and railings sitting against the blue of the house really made the home pop as you walk by.Â
After Tom Curren Left:
Both jobs overall combined about 4-6 weeks to complete from start to finish in production. The homeowners were so pleased with the final outcome that they continued to be Tom Curren clients, hiring us again to do a smaller interior paint job as well as minor carpentry repairs. We continue to be impressed with our crews in the timing and produced work as they tackle bigger projects every year. We have maintained our working relationship with these homeowners and hope that they will continue to work with us every time they need work done.

The review, planning, and painting process were pleasant and organized. I appreciated the detail and focus on long-term improvements to the house's exterior. The crew did a fantastic job prepping, painting, repairing, and cleaning up. The crew leaders were professional and very nice to deal with.
Due to extensive ice dam damage, replaced and painted walls and ceilings throughout the house. Replaced kitchen flooring, countertops and tile backsplash. Also, installed recessed lighting and pendants. Bryan and the entire crew were very professional, courteous and prompt from estimate through job completion. Communication with Bryan Powell was excellent. He was especially helpful in dealing with the Insurance Co. We are very please with the results and would highly recommend them. We plan to have the Curren Co paint the exterior of our house this upcoming Spring.
I just want you to know that Tiago and his crew did a wonderful job. Monday to Friday last week, they worked hard (morning to evening) to finish the exterior painting. Tiago himself finished our master bathroom painting on Friday. The result is excellent! We couldn’t be more happier that we chose Tom Curren and you sent us Tiago.
