Exotic Tigerwood Deck Build in Concord, MA
Final Project Details:
Project Details: New Tigerwood Deck Build
Materials: Tigerwood Decking, Natural Ipe Oil, Benjamin Moore Paint
Town: Concord, MA
Before Tom Curren Arrived:
This Concord home had an existing multi-level wraparound covered porch in the front of the home that needed maintenance. The homeowners brought the Tom Curren Companies team in, to touch up the existing porch and add on a new matching deck to their backyard.
Our Process:
To maintain the existing front porch, our team applied a fresh coat of Deckwise Natural Ipe Oil to revive the rich colors of the exotic deck boards and painted the PVC Trim with Benjamin Moore white latex paint.
In the backyard, our clients wanted a replication of the beautiful space in the front, with a few additional distinctive details that set this deck apart from any others we’ve built. We built a symmetrical deck off of the french doors, allowing ample outdoor living space. Tigerwood tread stairs were positioned off the front of the deck with two sets of encased metal grating stairs off to each side. Because of the nature of this material wood, it’s important to not only consider the deck pitch, but the ventilation to aid with water run off. Discreetly mixed into the decking boards on this deck, there is a thin strip of Carbochon cast iron trench grates that are strategically placed underneath the slight roof overhang to manage the water roll-off. Pebble stones were placed on the ground underneath the deck to assist with water flow and irrigation.
After Tom Curren Left:
Our new clients are left with a beautiful deck that adds another level of sophistication, as well as added value, to their home. We are so happy we can provide an overall satisfying experience for this new client and can’t wait for the opportunity to better their home once again!
