Pollinator-Friendly Gardening Tips For Homeowners in Greater Boston
Spring is the best time to awaken your dormant yard and embrace the season of resurgence. There are many ways to get your yard ready for
I’ve been a beekeeper for over 30 years, and bees continue to fascinate me. When my children were little, they helped tend the hives and sold jars of honey from a roadside stand by our house in Lincoln. They earned some pocket money, ate honey to their hearts’ content, and witnessed firsthand the power of cooperation and dedication. Bees are one of nature’s best examples of team players. They each have their role and do their share to contribute. There’s no doubt that my industrious bees have had a profound effect on me. Caring for them is demanding and they’re a no-nonsense bunch. Bees can’t survive without perfect synchronization, teamwork, and communication. They’ve got a routine, and I stick to it! Life in the hive provides lessons in persistence, organization and hard work—lessons I’ve taken to heart, both at home and in my business. Bees always do their part to make the world a better place, and I believe in always doing my part by being a good steward to the bees who depend on me, and by helping to service and support my local community.
